My Legs

Friday, November 18th, 2005

With each passing day my legs feel weaker and weaker… They feel heavier than before. They actually make me think about them because they feel weaker… Sitting around for eight hours, five days a week…I think it’s making an impact on my legs. The legs that walked me miles and miles around in Europe…and got me second in that Adventure Challenge back in Cadets…

But anways, today marks the third day since I got back from Europe that we have sunny weather! The third day that I have been able to see the mountains! And what a view it is…such an amazing vista!

Christmas Time

Thursday, November 17th, 2005

Christmas time for me has been preceeded by some quite interesting events over the past few years.

In 2002, everything was normal.

Back in 2003, I was back in high-school. Grade 12 in-fact, and it was just before christmas that me and a friend were suspended from school.

Last year, 2004, I was working a low-end job…Best Buy…during this time. It was kinda crummy to work in retail…especially around the christmas season!

This year, 2005, I will be working in an office with a salary pay. Nice, eh?

As you can see, things have gotten better for me as the years go on! Being suspended that first year was something different for a change for me. I got to experience something other than ‘just another generic christmas season’. When I look back now, it seemed to have been a better Christmas than in previous years because it was my first plunge out of normality. Being completely normal is boring. People are starting to realize that it is one of the most horrible things.

When I got into retail, I had no real idea how bad it really was going to be! But somehow I guess I would call it better than being just suspended… Actually, many people would rather the suspension than work retail during the Christmas season! haha! But I consider it a step-up in the world. The opening of my life into the job world.

This year, things have improved quite a bit further. I’m now working that pretty good job…although boring at times…many times… It’s a nice set-up.

So the way I see it is that next year should hold a sweet job with less boringness to it! I’m working on that plan right now with a few friends, and we’re going to make it happen!

At Work

Wednesday, November 16th, 2005

At precisely 1:17pm today, I officially got bored of my job again. There was a semi-gradual descent, but it mostly just hit me all at 1:17pm.

Blank, white walls allow you to stare past them cause you don’t focus on the surface. I believe it makes you tired.

Welcome to Holland

Monday, November 14th, 2005

On our train ride into Holland for the first time, when I showed my passport to the ticket guy, he looked at my last name. Then he looked at me and said to me “Your last name…it’s dutch.” It was an awesome welcoming to holland!

the Perfect Job

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

Sean and I are planning something big. Very ambitious. Last night we met up at the mall and drove to an “Olde Irish Pub”. There, we sat and planned with a few drinks and a huge pile of nachos! We got stuff down on paper finally so that we can start to write up the first draft.

The ball is starting to roll…

We planned for over three hours, then drove to pick up Jason after work. As we pulled into a spot, we noticed Christina sitting in the spot right next to us. We chatted it up for a while, then Jason came out, and we chatted some more until her boyfriend came out. Then we all took off…

Europe Trip Journal: Day 81 – Halloween!

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005
Mislabeled as “Day 80” in journal.

We woke up at 8am and had breakfast downstairs. A nice bowl of cereal! We rested until checkout at 11am, then walked to Victoria station and caught a train to Gatwick. We went through the security checks with little trouble… our bags were counted as oversized, and they rummaged through our carry-on because Ray left a metal fork in there. They confinscated it and we were on our way. We waited a few hours then boarded.

Take-off was just as fun as our last time! To our delight, the in-flight movies were (in order) Batman Begins, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, then Oceans 12.

The only one I have seen previously was Mr. and Mrs. Smith. They made the time pass rather quickly. We drank lots of Pepsi, and filled in a customs declaration form.
