Exhaustion to Drunkaustion

I went downtown on a Friday, which is unusual, but they requested I come in because Sting’s son and his band, Fiction Plane, were performing on our show, and they “wanted more skilled camera operators”. I think I did an okay job. I felt their style of music didn’t allow me my full creativeness with my camera moves. Some days you just feel the music and get into it, today wasn’t really one of them.

After UR, I walked over to the CBC building (which is next to where I met Julia yesterday), and this time I met up with Christine and we hung out downtown for two hours or so. First we picked up pizza from a real cheap dollar store that a German intern from UR told me about a while ago. It’s $1.25 a slice and they a real huge pieces! After we ate, we felt super lazy and we just sat there for a while. Eventually when we decided to walk, we went for about a minute or two before we found the entrance to a pub, which lured us inside, only for me to discover a pool table too! Since it was still early afternoon it was really empty so we had a beer while playing a game of pool. We only had time for one game before I had to train home. I think I need to teach Christine to play more by giving her more practice time. I guess we’ll just have to play pool there a little more often.

On the train, I sat down and slept with my laptop on my lap. Strange because there was an empty seat next to me, across from me, and a table there too, but I was just so tired that I dozed off immediately and didn’t even have time to put the laptop down! I felt super exhausted, I guess from a killer busy week! The beer might have also helped soothe me a little too. When I finally got home, I crashed right away and had a nice nap until Ray showed up. The plan was to pre-drink before heading off to Roosters to meet up with people, but we were both exhausted so we just sat and chatted for a while. Adrienn showed up later, who I haven’t seen in about a year, and she drove us all to Roosters. We met up with Nicola, Sheena, Scott, Lisa, Chris, and another Sheena and we all had a good time down there. Since I ended up buying quite a few drinks for people, as well as a bunch for myself, my bill came to just over a hundred bucks…

Adrienn drove us home just after 1am, very nice of her, and Ray and I crashed pretty shortly after.

Probably a good thing you slept with the laptop on your lap, people like to steal shiny electronics that are beside people who sleep.

I’m glad they called you in, of course they did, you’re Paul, the ultra super video guy of ultimate destiny!

I am however sad that I couldn’t have come out with you guys, I’m certain it would have been a good time. Good thing summer is alsmot here!
