Here’s a question to all you blog readers out there:

If you were a channel on TV, what number would you be and why?

Siesta

After editing late, I woke up at 8am to Mark knocking on my door to pick up some tapes because he’s going away for a few days. Shortly after, Christine came knocking and we went off and we played Squash for my very first time! It was really awesome – and I liked how similar it is to badminton! I kick ass at badminton, so I did fairly well.

Once I got home and was all exhausted, Christine took off for work and I went back to sleep. I had a good four hour siesta, which actually will help with my upcoming schedule of filming the all-niter grad.

I awoke just in time to head off for our very last dance recital for this season, which is insane because it all flew by so quickly! I’ve got a small start on the editing for them all, but it’s still going to take me quite a while!

Now, because of the siesta, I wasn’t all too tired, so I edited all the way up until 8am before I crashed!

Modes of Transportation

I went downtown as usual to film the shows – it was a little odd for UR because we began to shoot early, and everything got wrapped up by like 1:45. My train doesn’t come until 3:50, and since I wanted to be back earlier, I took the skytrain down to Braid station, where I caught a bus to Coquitlam station (which was very entertaining because I haven’t been on a bus in a long time), and then Dad picked me up cause he was dropping Jason at work, and he drove me to my car at PoCo station, where I parked it originally to catch the West Coast Express down in the morning. How many different modes of transportation can one possibly use in one afternoon!

Briefly after I got home, we headed out and filmed our second to last dance recital for this season! It all went really well.

Directors Meeting

First time in a while I’ve missed a good comedy show down at gallaghers. Instead, I sat down with my “core crew” for a director’s meeting. The four of us went to Dewy’s, and we chatted for around two hours about how we’re going to make our film project work. We talked lots of details – as much as we could. We’ve got a really good grip on things.

Film Meeting Workshop

Tuesday evening I hosted yet another film meeting that actually helped push us forward as a group. We have written up a very rough draft of a script that we are planning to produce. The draft is a full script and isn’t intended to be taken literally, but more-so for everyone to read it and realize just how much effort we’re planning to put into this project. It will certainly be bigger than anything we’ve done before.

At the meeting, all nine of us read the script, and then discussed it briefly over the next hour or so. It was a pretty organized, yet chaotic discussion on what the plan is going to be. You see, we had planned for something like a 5-15 minute short, but instead we’ve drastically changed our plans to now make something like a 40-60 minute film. This came as a curve ball for me, and sorta warped my meeting plans on what we were to work on. It was with the help of some of my more senior team members that we were able to get through it quite productively. We quickly discussed the project schedule as a whole, and then we went back down to the forest place where we shot that last Forest Brawl scene, and we did it again. This time, we put more effort on shooting it with a different style, while getting the actors to focus on their characters and how they were to portray themselves. We actually split into two small groups, with Mr. Pelley and myself switching between groups giving direction, and advice where needed. It was quite a beneficial workshop for everyone!

Afterwards, we wrapped up around 10pm and headed to Dewy’s for our debrief meeting. It all went quite well, and I’m confident we are starting off on the right foot.
