Hilarious Photoshops of My Headshot

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Some people may have noticed the new headshot on my front page, which Tim took of me the other day!  Actually he took a whole set of them for the BCPVA, all with the same settings and at the same angle.  Spencer gave me this little idea of mixing some parts and I made these hilarious photoshops:

First, the original:

Next me with some older fellow’s hair:

Then me with my Dad’s bald head:

And finally the opposite of my Dad with MY hair!

Wish I had time to do up a few more, but I should really get back to working, haha!

UPDATED 1:16PM March 20, 2010:

Now that it’s the weekend and I’ve gotten a bit more time, here’s a few more!

And here’s a bunch more I did of my dad:

Diez Hike with Ray

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

This morning I took Ray up the place where I do the morning hikes – we did a crazy side trail on the way up which was really intense, and we got a great workout! We clocked 8.6km over an hour and a half.

Hiking Minnekhada

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Sheena and I ran up Minnekhada after work today – up and down in 47 minutes. My GPS didn’t get a lock for a bit and we were running so I didn’t get it going until half way into it so this track is a bit incomplete:

A Note on Android Battery Life While Using GPS

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

The other week I went on a 1.5 hour hike with a fully charged battery and GPS tracked the whole thing with MyTracks and I came away with 30-40% of my battery left! Thankfully for the following week, I remembered to change my phone into airplane mode for the same hike and it still had 80% charge when I was done.

So for all you hikers & GPS trackers out there – remember to turn on Airplane Mode to make your phone stop wasting all its battery searching for a signal out where it has none!

Here’s how to do it for all the noobs – hold the power button down for about one second, and you will be prompted with the menu to the right here.  Touch the “Airplane Mode” option.  To turn it off again, simply do the same thing.
