Snow on Cypress

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Above is a shot of the new lodge up on Cypress.  They just put up this photo on their website, as they just got a nice new snow fall!  They’ve had 9cm of snow for the last several weeks up until the last 24 hours when a fresh 20cm fell!  The season opens when our passes are activated, which is December 15th!

New Cypress Mountain Lodge

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Snowboarding season approaches, and I’m working on putting together a group of 20 or more so we can all get a huge discount on our seasons passes.  If anyone’s interested, shoot me an email!  Anyways, this season will be quite different with the addition of a new lodge planted directly at the base between both peaks!  Above is a render of what it’ll look like.

Snowboarding with Nagle’s Cousin

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

I had a short afternoon mixed with lunch and work, and then I took off and went up snowboarding!  Today was the first time this season that I’ve forgotten to bring a piece of my equipment!  I left my bag with my goggles and gloves at home.  I went fine without goggles, and I managed to find some crummy but workable biking gloves of Brian’s in the car which I used.  It was really icy because of the sunny weather and lack of snowing, so my hands hurt like hell cause the gloves were so thin!

I was supposed to drive Mark Bakker and Tim Schafli up with me, so when Nagle called and asked if I could drive his cousin that I’ve never met, I agreed.  Nagle wasn’t even going to be home so I had to introduce myself too.  I didn’t think that we’d be alone in the car at the time, but Mark and Tim both bailed on me… we talked most of the way and he was pretty cool so it wasn’t that awkward, but the whole setup was weird.  I actually lost him on the mountain for a couple hours while we were up there!  I was like “Boy, I can’t wait to tell Nagle I lost his cousin!   I hope he has spares.”
