I Win I Win!

Friday, April 30th, 2010

I went down to Safeway the other night and bought a two dollar bag of hamburger buns – when I paid I got handed one of those “Lucky Break” chance to win cards.  I opened it up and had three matching pictures in one of the things.  Now, I never shop at Safeway so I had to flip it over to see what that meant, but it turns out I won a Tassimo Beverage System.  It looks like a specialty coffee maker where you buy these cartridges of the ingredients, and when you put it in the machine it scans the barcode to load the recipe, then uses the cartridge to brew it perfectly for you!

After some recon via the Waddell, it looks like these machines retail $169, and you can buy a package of 16 cartridges for $6.50.  Not a bad deal!

I went down to Safeway today and answered my skill testing question: Multiply 80 by 3; subtract 100; divide by 7; add 43.  It’ll get shipped to the store and I can pick it up in 6 weeks!

Friday, February 27th, 2009

We just entered into our annual 48 hour film contest, the Quick Flick Challenge, starting 7pm this Friday evening. We were provided with a randomly chosen inspiration package which must be used in our five minute film:

  • Location: Back alley
  • Object: Fisherman’s friend box with random contents (see photo below)
  • Character: Handyman
  • Line: It’s a dog’s breakfast.

Among other things, we will be judged on how well we incorporate our elements into our film. If you think you have an amazing idea based off this inspiration package, contact me or post it as a comment!

Check out some other current projects we have on the go.
