I’ve just added a fancy little page to my repertoire to help people contact me without even having to email me!  Just fill out the fancy little form and it’ll shoot me something.

Back To Work

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Today was the first day back at work since Shuswap, and it was a pretty calm one.  It was just my dad and I and we went over a bunch of administration stuff.  I started processing some photos for web from a dance competition in the morning, and since there’s thousands, the laptop has been going all day.  Anytime I look over at the screen, it looks exactly like the little animation I made over on the left there.  Non-stop.

My main focus today has been re-designing our main business website, TechnoMonkeyMedia.com.  It’s been several years since I last updated it, and we’ve definately got new content to put up there.  You really should see some of the older designs we’ve had too…

Wine, Hardware, Hopping, and Comedy

White Wine - VerdicchioMy day kicked off by racing over to Commercial Drive to film an interview with Vito and a guy from a company that is the number one Italian wine importer in Vancouver.  Following the interview, I filmed a promo for their other business which is an Italian shoe store.  The fellow we interviewed was a nice guy, because I ended up coming home with a complimentary bottle of white wine!  Vito took home a red.

Back at home, I had a little more of a kufuffel with Bob.  See, I bought a new SATA card to support more hard drives, and normally I can just plug it in, install drivers in windows, and it’ll work.  But no.  Not this time.  Not Bob today.  Ugh.  It works fine with a single hard drive plugged in, but never with more than one.  It’s got to be a firmware issue or something, but basically I’ve got 7 of 9 hard drives online now.  I can work with that for the time being, but I am very close to finalizing the hardware which should have been working days ago!

My afternoon was spent editing with Spencer, and I touched on looking at some new website designs for my company page: www.TechnoMonkeyMedia.com.  Perhaps I’ll share some here soon in case anyone has some input…?  During one of our breaks, I played around trying to hop my unicycle some more.  I should also get some video of this sometime because it is really amusing actually!

And finally for my evening, I actually went down and watched Table 23 perform at Gallaghers for my first time since about January!  It’s been an incredibly long time!  Good times.

Long Sleep

Monday, February 4th, 2008

After I edited Old Country Olga with Adrienn, I lay down for a nap around 4:30pm and I didn’t wake up until about 1am.  Jessy and I were supposed to go hit up a 4 hour Samaria movie downtown around 7, but when he came to wake up, I was far too tired to be able to sit through a movie.  When I woke at 1am, it was like urg-I’ve just had a full nights sleep and the night it only starting!  I could have woken up and stayed up late, but that would have thrown off my schedule, and we all know what happens when I go nocturnal, so instead I decided to keep sleeping.  It was a rough run, where I woke up a few times for short patches, but I slept until 7:30am, when I got up and started some work.  I was very well rested too.

I worked most of the day, up until council at 5, which I went down and directed the second half of.  It was actually a really nice treat to direct three really good camera operators.  Council was also a bit of a roller coaster, which kept us all awake.

Council

Back at home, I stayed up pretty late because I still wasn’t very tired – I’m drafting up the template pages for the film section of my website which should be live sometime soon.  Maybe a week or two tops.

Snowboarding & Web Design

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I was up late last night transferring my blog over to this new platform, and it led me to wake up around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. It snowed pretty heavy overnight (20 cm or so), so people advised me against going up snowboarding…. I’m not really one to listen to them because I knew the roads on the mountain would be in better condition than some of the roads down here. They have an army just for plowing the snow so they can run their business. I took the Subaru and drove over and picked up Adrienn, and then Mark. From there we headed straight up the mountain and we met up with some others up on the mountain a bit later.

Check out this awesome highlight video of our times up there – what’s cool about this one is that I’m actually in it for more than just a single shot!

Afterwards I got right back into web-design and stayed up all night working on the crew pages for the film section, which aren’t yet done because they are a huge undertaking.
